How do I set up my weekly Federal and State Tax News Alerts?

NovaTax offers Federal and State News from Tax Analysts®. The Federal Tax News consists of 18-20 news articles per week. The type of news items includes summaries of important new government document releases, news stories written by Tax Analysts® experts on hot topics or on coverage of important industry conferences, and also practice articles which are written by nationally recognized experts on important issues. The State Tax News consists of 70+ articles per week covering all 50 States and D.C. The type of news items include important primary law releases and news articles on hot topics.

SETTING UP EMAIL ALERTS

With NovaTax, you can choose to receive a weekly Federal Tax News Alert and/or State Tax News Alert email delivered to your email inbox.

If you choose not to receive an email alert, you will be able to read your NovaTax news on the platform from your PC, Tablet or Mobile Phone anytime you want.

If you choose to receive the email alert(s), which is the recommended option, then please follow the below step by step instructions. You have the option to receive the standard email or personalize it.

New users will be prompted automatically to make a selection during their User ID setup. Existing users can visit the Alert Settings tab located on the left-hand side of the navigation column.

To elect not to receive the newsletter, choose "I do not want to receive the NovaTax Federal News Alert". You can also make a selection for the State News Alert.

HOW TO CHOOSE YES I WANT TO RECEIVE THE EMAIL ALERT

We recommend that you don’t personalize the Federal News Alert as there are only 18-20 articles per week which is manageable in an email alert.

We recommend that you personalize your State News Alert to just the states that you want to focus on, however, you can receive the alert for all 50 states and D.C. if you want.

To set up your alerts:

Federal Tax News Alert: Click the radio button selecting "I want to receive the NovaTax Federal News Alert”. This is the recommended option for Federal news. It will email you all the news articles for that week in one consolidated email.

State Tax News Alert: As mentioned above, you can receive all the State Tax News if you want by selecting “I want to receive the NovaTax State News Alert”.

Many tax professionals only want to the alert to cover States that impact their clients. You can personalize by State your State News Alert by:

Selecting “I want to Personalize my NovaTax State News Alert”.
Then click on “States and U.S. Territories” and select the states that you want in your alert.
Then click on “Save E-Mail Alerts” on the bottom right.
